Transformation

Two years ago, one day I got really tired of my hair. Every 6-8 weeks I went to the hairdresser to relax, every time my hair broke off and every time I experienced a moment of relaxation when my hair became lifeless.

Two years ago, one day I got really tired of my hair. Every 6-8 weeks I went to the hairdresser to relax, every time my hair broke off and every time I experienced a moment of relaxation when my hair became lifeless.

I had changed my mind and bought fake hair at Suhail at Albert Cuijp to braid my hair. I saw nice hair types and chose the water wave. Everyone I spoke to thought it looked great on me and that's how I walked around with those braids for over 1,5 years.

Before braiding my hair, I was at the hairdresser's in Amsterdam and heard some girls talking about Chris Rock's movie Good hair. Out of curiosity I downloaded and watched the movie. I had a hearty laugh about it and couldn't help but confess that it is oh so true. The stuff I've put in my hair for years is chemical and very bad for your (my) hair. After seeing the film I decided not to relax my hair for the time being. Then keep my hair braided for a long time. But that gets boring after a while, I thought.

A few months ago I came across a website about frizzy hair and Going Natural. Curious as I am, I visited most of the sites and became intrigued by the diversity of hairstyles with frizzy hair. The stories of the women who go through life natural have also inspired me and since then I have come up with the idea to do the same. Nothing is worse than relaxing and keeping your hair natural is much better and moreover I love my hair.

Going Natural first requires some preliminary work and I have indeed noticed that I have entered a phase in which I am not only looking for myself but want to experiment with my hair. Can I make fun twists? Can I braid or... what can I do with it. Fortunately, there have been ladies who have put out useful tips and tricks on both YouTube and DVD to help the other sisters with creative ideas. I've already decided to start making twists, nice and easy and handy.

Maintaining my frizzy hair also means getting the right stuff at home. Which hair oil, milk product, shampoo and conditioner can I use for my frizzy hair? I have already found a product that has completely fascinated me, namely the Natural Laxer Mix. I was not aware of this product and contacted the lady who sells this product. Her explanation made me even more curious and bought the product from her.

Ever since I've had the products at home, I've been drawn to the cupboard in which I've kept them. Take a look every night, every Google to gather more information about the treatment of frizzy hair and then almost become obsessed with it. Last weekend I was tossing and turning and my braids irritated me. As soon as I have something in my head to do, I want to be able to execute it immediately. That said....

Now, February 16, I decided to take out all my braids this Friday and go through life Natural. At least, if I don't like it, luckily I have alternatives. I still have a pile of hair that I can use.

Conclusion: I'm really ready now! :-)>
